2012 WGC Match Play final: Flying umbrella’s and wandering golf balls

A couple of strange videos from today’s action at the WGC Accenture Match Play final.

Hunter Mahan prevailed in the final of the WGC Match Play event in Arizona beating Rory McIlroy 2 and 1, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Mahan. His bogey saving putt on the 4th hole was interrupted by a flying umbrella. Check out the video.

He managed to make the putt and square the hole with McIlroy, going on to win the tournament.

Earlier, McIlroy had beaten Lee Westwood to make the final and during the match Lee Westwood had to deal with a lie similar to the one Phil Mickelson encountered a few weeks ago.

At the 13th, Lee Westwood’s wayward tee shot meant his ball skipped into the gallery. I’m still unsure who this happened exactly but the ball found its way down the back of a woman’s shirt. See the evidence in the video below.
