Melbourne’s Metropolitan Golf Club to host World Cup of Golf in 2018

The PGA Tour have announced that the 2018 World Cup of Golf will be played at Metropolitan Golf Club on Melbourne’s sandbelt, November 21-25, 2018.

After a successful tournament at Kingston Heath in 2016 that saw Søren Kjeldsen and Thorbjørn Olesen lead Denmark to their first World Cup victory, the PGA Tour have decided to return the event to Australia in 2018 and hold the event at Metropolitan Golf Club (November 21-25, 2018).

It was Australia’s Day at Royal Melbourne as Jason Day and Adam Scott win the World Cup of Golf.

Australia cleaned up at the 2013 World Cup of Golf. Jason Day, powered by his mother’s ‘salty chicken’ showed nerves of steel to beat Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn by two shots, and he and Adam Scott combined to also win the team competition.

Adam Scott holes out for eagle at World Cup of Golf: video

It’s been an exciting morning at The World Cup of Golf that started with Adam Scott holing out a wedge for eagle at the first hole.

The roars could be heard all around Royal Melbourne as Scott went on a run and climbed the leaderboard.

Scott made birdie at the second and third holes to pull within two shots of the lead after Jason Day made bogey at the first hole.

Mum’s salty chicken motivates Jason Day to lead World Cup of Golf

It was Australia’s Day during the third round of the 2013 World Cup of Golf at Royal Melbourne.

Jason Day has shot to the top of the leaderboard at the World Cup of Golf with a fighting third round 5-under par 66 at Royal Melbourne.

Day leads Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn by one shot, with American Matt Kuchar two further shots behind going into the final round.
