Brandt Snedeker romps to victory at Fiji International: video highlights

Fresh off a thrilling Ryder Cup victory, American Brandt Snedeker has blown away the field at the Fiji International at Natadola Bay.

It didn’t take long for American Brandt Snedeker to assert his authority on the final day of the Fiji International. The world number 23 and winning Ryder Cup player birdie the first hole and followed it up with two birdies in the next five holes to shoot well clear of the field and was never headed.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day. I birdied the first hole out of the gate,” said Snedeker. “Being 3-under after the first six it all kind of went my way and I hit quality golf shots. I just never really let up.”

Snedeker’s 4-under par closing round saw the American win the Fiji International by nine strokes from New Zealand’s Michael Hendry and capped off a stunning week and paradise.

“It’s been a pretty good two weeks; it would be good if I had a tournament next week. But the week off will be good, it will give me some time to rest and get my mind right,” said Snedeker. “I’ve done a lot of other stuff in my career and last week propelled that for my career, handling the pressure like it did.”
