Adam Scott will play in his 68th consecutive major next week after narrowly securing a spot in the US Open via a qualifying event in Columbus, Ohio.

In the end, Scott snuck into the US Open field by one stroke at the qualifying event, one of 14 players who earned their spots including fellow Australian Aaron Baddeley.

Scott was forced to punch his ticket to the US Open at Shinnecock Hills via qualifying after finding himself out of the world’s top-60 golfers which would have earned him an automatic spot in the field.

In total, nine Australians will tee it up at Shinnecock Hills next week.

Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, Matt Jones, Lucas Herbert, David Bransdon and Jason Scrivener also forced their way into the field via qualifying events.

Marc Leishman, Jason Day and Cameron Smith automatically qualified by their world golf rankings.
