Adam Scott named 2014 Australia’s best sports star

It’s a you beaut Australia Day as Adam Scott is named Australia’s best sports star.

The Daily Telegraph’s Richard Hinds has compiled his Top-100 list of Australia’s best sports stars. Today the Top-20 were published and Adam Scott has been revealed as Australia’s best sports star.

Four golfers were included in Hinds’ list – Marc Leishman (#82), Karrie Webb (#27), Jason Day (#13) and 2013 Masters champion Adam Scott (#1).

Golfers are often overlooked when it comes list of Australia’s best sports people, so it’s nice to see Scott’s remarkable 2013 – which included his historic victory at the Masters – so publicly recognised on Australia Day.

I’d expect Adam Scott would top a list of  Australia’s nicest sports stars too.
