2016 list of golf gift ideas for Christmas

Stuck for a gift for that golfer in the family? Or just want to give someone in a hint? Check out the list of Christmas golf gifts below.

We’ve had a number of golf products cross our desk this year – some of which we’ve reviewed, and others we’ve shared through our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). We thought we’d accumulate them here as a neat way of giving our readers a few Christmas gift ideas or at least pointing your family in the right direction.

Let us know if you think there are any other cool golf gift ideas that should be added to the list, and we’ll add them over the coming weeks.

garminGarmin Approach X40 golf GPS watch
After out review of the Garmin Approach X40 earlier this year, suddenly a lot of golfers got interested in buying a golf GPS watch that hadn’t before. As well giving distances to greens and hazards, the touch-screen Approach X40 is one of the first golf GPS watches to incorporate fitness in its design – tracking steps, sleep and monitor heart rate. This is one golf watch that golfers can happily worn off the golf course.

PitchFix golf repair toolpitchfix
We’ve had this nifty Pitchfix Twister device in out bag for a few months now and think it’d be a great stocking filler or Kris Kringle for that golfer in the office or at home.

The three-pins pop out of the casing with a twist and repairing those plugmarks couldn’t be any easier. Or cooler.

nickohernbook“Tour Mentality; Inside the mind of a Tour Pro” by Nick O’Hern
Australian golfer Nick O’Hern has written a book that gives a wonderful insight into the mind of a tour professional. “Tour Mentality; Inside the mind of a Tour Pro” has a foreward by Gary Player and we’re already hearing some great reviews.
O’Hern admits he extracted every ounce of ability from what he’d been naturally given and relied heavily on being mentally tough – something that he used to beat Tiger Woods twice at match play.
We have it lined up to read over the holidays.

Bushnell TourX Rangefinder
We love the Bushnell TourX Rangefinder and we told everyone about it in our review and can’t imagine any golfer being unhappy finding this under the tree. It’s easy and fast to use, and the JOLT technology gives you a vibration feedback once you’ve zeroed in on the flag.
Check out our review of the TourX Rangefinder if you want to know more and keep an eye out for a new model on its way soon.

Fairways Fund – The Gift of Golf
Sydney based Tiffany Chaisson and Jeremy White have recently launched ‘Fairways‘ – an organisation that raises money for kids who love golf around the world, but whose families are in difficult financial situations. Fairways then looks after their membership, lessons, and range access etc. They need donations and sponsors… maybe a gift for someone or yourself for the coming Christmas? Check out Fairways for more details.

eliteElite Sporting Tours – US Masters trip
Ok, so this might be a bit out of the reach of many golf fans but we were lucky enough to get an inside look at the sort of experience you get from Elite Sporting Tours on our trip to the Masters Tournament earlier this year – and it was superb.

In addition to the obviously incredible golf tournament you’re attending, the off-course experience provided by Elite Sporting Tours blew us away with their attention to detail and an amazing ‘home-base’ house to relax, and talk more golf! Yes, this is a big outlay but an unforgettable golf trip but it’ll be an experience you will never forget. Check out Elite Sporting Tours for more details.

GolfJet golf balls
We tried and reviewed these GolfJet golf balls earlier in the year and liked what we saw. GolfJet are an Australian company breaking into the golf ball market. You can order their golf balls, gloves and a connection to their app through the GolfJet website. The packaging is pretty neat too and a would make a slick Christmas gift for the golfer in the family.

Bollé Golf V3 Sunglasses
Like a lot of golfers, there was a time when we didn’t like wearing sunglasses while playing golf. But it all changed once we found the range Bollé golf sunglasses.

We’ve been wearing the Bolle Bolt sunglasses that modulate the light in such a way that we’ve been happy to wear them in all sorts of light conditions. Unlike many other sunglasses, the lenses aren’t polarised which makes a big difference when reading greens and giving that perspective you need on the golf course.
