2014 US PGA Championship: Round 2 video highlights

Unsurprisingly McIlroy leads; surprisingly Day is second.

Rory McIlroy has stormed into the lead halfway through the 2014 US PGA Championship at Valhalla. The uber-hot McIlroy took advantage of the soft conditions to fire a 4-under round 67 to lead the last major of the year by one stroke.

Jason Day and Jim Furyk are just a shot behind.

Furyk’s form is fantastic right now and perhaps it’s not totally unexpected to see him near the top of the leaderboard. But seeing Jason Day’s name up there may surprise a few people.

Day withdrew from last week’s tournament with a bout of vertigo, reportedly due to the medication he was taking for his wrist injury. Day has had a troubled year since his victory at thre WGC Accenture Match Play in February and golf experts wondered if Day had enough golf under his belt to compete this week. Myself included.

We’ll see what pans out on the weekend.
